About Us

The Chamber Music Society presents world-famous as well as young and emerging chamber music ensembles from throughout the U.S. and abroad. Many of our guest artists are major award winners and appear on the most prestigious concert stages. Our performances are frequently recorded by Minnesota Public Radio and broadcast at a later date. We serve a large rural area in addition to the city of St. Cloud – audience members regularly come from an 80-mile radius and on occasion from neighboring states.

We have commissioned two new works and have presented several American or Minnesota premieres of new compositions, and many ensembles have made their Minnesota debut on our series. The goal of the Chamber Music Society of St. Cloud is to bring the public the widest possible variety of music that falls within the genre of chamber music, performed by the people most qualified to present it.

Over the years, we have received recognition on both a local and national level for what we do. We have received numerous grants in highly-competitive programs of both Chamber Music America and the National Endowment for the Arts. We received the mayor’s “High Five” award in 1997, the first annual Arts Award from the St. Cloud Arts Commission in 2000, Chamber Music America’s CMAcclaim Award in 2008 (one of two in the nation), the first United Arts Excellence in the Arts award in 2011. In 2013, we were one of two locations in the nation chosen to present renowned violinist Midori in recital through her Partners in Performance program.
