Escher Quartet

1144 North 29th Avenue
St. Cloud, Minnesota
Within months of its inception in 2005, the Escher Quartet was invited by both Pinchas Zukerman and Itzhak Perlman to be the quartet-in-residence at each artist's summer festival. Since then the Quartet has performed at prestigious venues and festivals across the United States including Lincoln Center (where they are part of the Chamber Music Society Two program), the 92nd Street Y and Symphony Space in New York, Boston's Gardner Museum, the Ravinia and Caramoor Festivals, Music@Menlo and La Jolla Summerfest. Their performance on this series will be their Minnesota debut!
"The Escher gave an elegant, restrained and thoughtfully nuanced account of Mozart's String Quartet in D minor. Playing standing up, the musicians drew endlessly interesting variations on the four-note figure that dominates the second movement." — The Strad
"Each member of the group played with a glowing tone and insightful musicianship...The ensemble's full-blooded rendition of the last quartet was particularly impressive, with the first violin, cello and viola melodies played with sumptuous elegance." — New York Times
"Finely honed technique and a focused ensemble blend are this group's strong suits...a dark ambrosial brew all its own." — The Boston Globe
